Join us on FIRELADY'S ORIGINAL LAUSCHA TOUR, AUGUST 6-13, 2019
It may be imitated, but never duplicated! If you've never been to Lauscha, you're in for a treat. You'll be immersed in 400 years of glass culture. More glass than you ever dreamed of!
What makes this tour so special? You'll be treated like family, not like a tourist. You'll see the town from an insider's perspective. You'll be observing demos from inside artist's home studios, as well as hitting all of the local cultural "hot spots".
What's to do? Dine with the world's only Glass Princess! Tour the famous Lauscha Factory, and enjoy a Christmas Ornament workshop where you'll blow and hand silver and decorate your ornaments. (No experience necessary!) Visit Coburg Castle, famous for it's ancient glass, as well as the Duke of Coburg's Summer Palace with it's modern glass collection. Visit the world class Museum für Glas Kunst. Observe locals at work blowing glass of all types, including human, doll and teddy bear eyes! Did you know glass Christmas ornaments originated in Lauscha? So did the montage technique. Enjoy the world's best sausage, schnapps, and beer!
What's included? Just about everything! Comfortable accommodations at the Hotel Garni-Beck. Full German Breakfast (Frühstuck) every morning, all dinners, and many lunches are included. And of course, admission to all tour events and activities, as well as transportation to and from MUNICH to Lauscha. The only thing you need to take care of is airfare. And alcohol.
Local artists will demonstrate for you, and many of them will be happy to provide private classes for 100 Euros each. Try your hand at Christmas ornaments, montage vessels, animals, glass eyes, goblets and more! Learn how to really work with Lauscha tubing and rod.
